Funding – Voluntary Consumable charge

We at Ketton Pre-school are committed to providing high quality early years education and care. As part of this, we offer a range of enriching activities and experiences that may involve the use of additional materials and consumables not covered by Government funding for early education entitlements.

To help support these enhanced experiences, we request a voluntary contribution from funded families towards consumables. Voluntary contributions help us provide: Additional snacks and healthy treats, baking and cooking ingredients, gardening resources, enhanced learning resources and materials, celebration items for cultural events or birthdays. Prizes for prize box, prizes for parties, stickers, cups, Makaton language.

These items are not compulsory for the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) but they greatly enrich the children’s experience at our setting. Contributions are voluntary and not a condition of accessing the funded entitlement. The contribution is £2.00 per funded session and this will be stated on your fees bill.

No child will be excluded from any part of the provision or made to feel different based on whether a contribution is made. We are committed to inclusion and equity for all families.

Children with special needs

We will do all we can to accommodate children with special needs. Meeting with parents and relevant agencies beforehand to discuss the best possible environment for the child to be integrated into.

Parents must inform the playschool of any known medical condition or health problem. With parental permission, we administer medicines such as inhalers and epipens.

If a child has had Calpol, they are unwell and should be kept at home until recovered. We do not administer Calpol.
